We are seeking a Stage Manager to join our team
Are you the kind of person who notices what needs to be done before anyone has to ask? Do you enjoy keeping things organised, making sure everyone knows what is happening and ensuring that rehearsals and performances run smoothly – even when plans change at short notice?
As a Stage Manager, you will work across many different areas of the theatre. You will act as a key link between the artistic team, stage crew and other staff, ensuring above all that information is communicated clearly and everyone is kept up to date. Your responsibilities will include coordinating schedules and practical arrangements, supporting rehearsals and performances, preparing the stage and sourcing props. During performances, you will follow the progress of the production and ensure that the actors and stage crew are ready and that scene changes happen at the right time. Your duties will vary according to the needs of each production.
We are looking for someone with good organisational skills, a keen eye for what is happening around you and a good sense of what is needed. You can anticipate situations, communicate clearly and keep everything under control even when circumstances change. You are proactive, careful and reliable, and you work well with people from different backgrounds. In the sometimes hectic pace of theatre life, you remain calm and flexible when needed. Familiarity with theatre practices helps you handle different situations with confidence, and we value experience in other areas of theatre work, such as costume maintenance or stage technology. The working languages of the theatre are Finnish and English.

The position is fixed-term, running from 1 November 2026 to 31 December 2028. During November and December, time will be set aside for an introduction to the role and the theatre’s working practices, with working hours during this period agreed separately. From January onwards, the position is full-time, averaging 38.25 hours per week. Salary is in accordance with the theatre industry's collective agreement. The role includes evening and weekend work in line with the performance schedule.
