Outdoor Easter weekend Performance Workshop in Suurpelto, Espoo

Are you interested in creativity, movement, and exploring your neighbourhood in new ways?

Espoo theatre and the &Neighbourhood project invites Suurpelto residents and families with immigrant and multicultural backgrounds to join a free two-day outdoor performance workshop on April 4th–5th.

Together we will explore the neighbourhood creatively, try simple performance exercises, and experiment with telling stories in unusual and playful ways. The workshop includes both group and individual activities in outdoor spaces.

The workshop is facilitated by performing artists Homa Shokri and Dash Che.

FREE PARTICIPATION
Participation is free and no previous experience in art needed. Registration is required by the 31st of March.

LANGUAGE
English, but Finnish, Farsi, and Russian can also be used depending on the needs of the group.

DATES AND TIME
Saturday 4th April — 12:00–16:00
Sunday 5th April — 12:00–16:00

LOCATION
Suurpelto, Espoo.
Meeting spot is Kynäniekanpiha 4, Floor B, asukastila.

WHAT TO EXPECT
We will start with an introduction round, then do easy warmup movement practice. We continue with longer performative group and individual practices followed by sharing circle and breaks. Possibly, we will do small performances for each other in the end, if the group wants to!

We will have access to the indoors for the toilet needs during the workshop. We will have a 40 min lunch break at the agreed time. Please, dress according to the weather and so that you can move freely! And bring your lunch.
