"My Story (also) Lives Here" is a series of creative and playful workshops about belonging, memories, and leaving traces. Espoo-based residents with multicultural background are invited to participate in these workshops that will take place both indoor and outdoor. Workshops will include movement-based and imaginative practices, humorous and fun exercises, as well as exploring the neighborhood together using various artistic methods such as storytelling, drawing creative maps, filming, sound recording and doing movement. The project is designed to help participants reconnect with their personal histories attached to places from their present in Espoo as well as their past elsewhere.

The outcome of the project will be self-made Memory Monuments - publicly shared memory traces and fragments of stories as a way of reclaiming public spaces within the neighborhood. The workshops are suitable for whole families. You don't need to have a previous experience in arts to participate.

Participation is free of charge. There will be coffee and tea offered during each practice.

“My Story (also) Lives Here” consists of 6 workshops that will be offered weekly starting from January for Group 1 (Tuesdays), from February for Group 2 (Saturdays) and from March for Group 3 (Thursdays).
