Joan of Arc’s Trousers is a performance about justice, truth, and power. It is a comedy about how truth is manufactured. It is music and humour, witches and politics, media storms, and the Late Middle Ages!
What happens to truth when publicity is judge and jury?

Playwright and director Linda Wallgren (b. 1988 in Helsinki) is a graduate of the University of the Arts Theatre Academy’s programme in directing. In 2016-20, she was the artistic director of Teatteri Vanha Juko in Lahti. She has directed productions for the National Theatre, Tampereen Työväen Teatteri, Turku City Theatre, Ryhmäteatteri, and Q-teatteri. Linda Wallgren directed Aleksis Kivi, the winner of 2022 State Award for Public Information.
Wallgren has frequently worked with classic texts and reinterpreted them in her powerful productions. Wallgren is interested in structures, and especially in ways of being circumscribed by gender, patriarchal family system, and small community existence.
