Käärmeenpääntallaajat
An extraordinary mass – a performance about a world that could be real
Käärmeenpääntallaajat (Treading on snakes’ heads) is an ecstatic and intriguing dive into the past, full of frantic exploration and jolts of joy. The stage is populated by ethno-techno group Suistamon Sähkö, hypnotic underground trio Palomylly, dance theatre Tsuumi, Folk Extreme, a wild bunch from TYK senior secondary school, and a surprise guest performer.
Show moreKäärmeenpääntallaajat takes us back three centuries, to actual events long forgotten, to mysterious ceremonies of a religious cult in southern Ostrobothnia. The performance promises to be a memorable and surprising feast for all senses. Might we discover what faith is about, and how far we are prepared to go in its name?
Käärmeenpääntallaajat is a story about a secret community, a dogged pursuit of personal happiness, and a yearning for freedom. It is a festival, a rock concert, and a visual dance performance that incorporates senior secondary school youths’ visions and views.
World premiere on March 16th 2023 at TTT-Theatre, Main Stage.
