What others are saying

★★★★ "The audience roars when, in a split second, Jumppatytöt team's dramatic, dark pathos transforms into aerobic fireworks. Endorphin floods the entire gymnastics arena."Emma Vainio, Helsingin Sanomat

A few words from the creators

ELLA: We're all former team gymnasts.

INKERI: Team gymnastics pretty much defined our entire youth.

KATA: Just as it has defined the youth of thousands and thousands of Finnish girls, given it is one of the most popular hobbies for girls and women in Finland.

INKERI: And Finland is the best in the world in team gymnastics!

ELLA: With multiple world championships!

INKERI: And yet, hardly anyone even knows the sport exists!

ELLA: That's why we wanted to create a theatre performance about it.

INKERI: We also wanted to create this work because the discipline hasn't left any of us in peace, even though we quit gymnastics nearly two decades ago.

ELLA: Even though we didn't know each other from before, there was an instant and intimate sense of recognition that fellow gymnasts share, that we DO know each other.
