WAUHAUS
WAUHAUS is a Helsinki-based multidisciplinary arts collective that was founded in 2016. The collective’s works are situated between different genres of art and take place at various venues, such as small black box theatres, urban sites, large stadiums, and the main stages of established theatre houses. In 2019 they directed and designed Sapiens – The story of a story-telling species, by Minna Leino and based on Yuval Noah Harari’s original work, for the Main Stage of the Finnish National Theatre. WAUHAUS was awarded the State Prize for the Performing Arts in 2017. WAUHAUS is known for their comprehensive audiovisual stage aesthetics and methods of shared authorship.

Pipsa Lonka (born 1977) is versatile playwright, dramaturg, and screenwriter whose texts often deal with the relations and connections between humans and nature. Her repertoire of works includes plays for both adults and children, as well as radio plays and poems. Many of Lonka’s ecocritical plays are eye-opening and subtly political. They dismantle the divide between nature and culture by positioning humanity as a part of nature.
Lonka has twice been awarded the Lea Award for best dramatic text of the year for her plays These little town blues are melting away (2013) and Second nature (2018). sky every day and its Swedish translation by Sofia Aminoff won the Finnish-Swedish Boisman foundation award for playwrights in 2021.
